Christmas Day Lunch for the Elderly

The Rotary Club of Barnet supported by volunteers held their annual Christmas Day lunch for the Elderly who would otherwise be on their own. The lunch was held at Ewen Hall, Wood Street, High Barnet.

Christmas lunch and musical entertainment was provided and takeaway meals and gifts were taken to some who wanted to stay at home. The Mayor of Barnet Councillor Nagus Narenthira and her husband joined us, wishing all a happy Christmas and staying for the meal also.

The Rotary Club President Rev Martin Wellings thanked all the volunteers who had helped with the driving as well as preparing and serving the meal. Also thanks go to Chris the entertainer who has supported the event for a number of years.

Funding for the event is provided by fundraising by the Rotary Club as well as a generous donation from a local charity that supports the welfare of the elderly.
